    I may be biased but this is one of my favorite fish to target. Pound for pound a smallmouth bass might just be the toughest fighting fish. There’s just nothing like a smallie crushing a topwater fly or chasing down your streamer with an electric strike!

    These fish are survivors! Brook trout are relics of the last ice age, left behind when all the glaciers receded. We have over 2,900 miles of wild trout streams in Virginia. These native fish are located all throughout our beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain streams. They’re hungry and they’re feisty. They may not be the largest fish but they are the prettiest.

    Brown Trout

    Another fun species to target. Brown trout are active and predatory feeders and can be a blast to catch. Streamers are a go-to pattern for these fish. We are fortunate to have streams that hold wild brown trout and streams that are stocked. You can float both of our tailwater rivers, the Jackson, and the Smith for brown trout.

  • Rainbow Trout

    These beautiful trout are common in Virginia and can be a blast to catch. Many of our streams are stocked with rainbow trout but you can find many streams that hold wild rainbows. These fish are beautiful and fun to target.
